  • Taos Day School Electric Car That Was Awarded the Ron Rioux Perseverance Award by Race Judges at the 2022 Electric Car Challenge.

    After such a promising start last November, our Eagles are looking forward to bringing home another prize at the 2023 New Mexico Electric Car Challenge. A team of Taos Day School’s burgeoning student engineers (6-8th graders) participated in the Electric Car Challenge for the first time in the school’s history and were awarded the prestigious Ron Rioux Perseverance Award by the race judges.

    I Am From Poems

    Taos Pueblo community’s youngest poets were center stage as they stepped up to a mic and shared their hearts for the I Am From Poems project. Inspired by George Ella Lyon’s poem “Where I’m From,” First Grade Teacher Nola Romero-Miller and Media Savvy Citizens designed a template for students to write their own poems.

  • Members of Uganda’s Dance of Hope Visit Taos Day School.

    While on a tour through the United States from Uganda, Dance of Hope stopped in Taos, New Mexico, on Sept. 18, 2023, and brought music, dancing and language to the Bureau of Indian Education-operated Taos Day School.

    Taos Day School Students Celebrating and Wearing Indigenous Masks, Headdresses, And Traditional Regalia During a School Social and Ceremonial Occasion.

    A day full of celebration at Taos Day School highlighted staff and educator accomplishments through the Bureau of Indian Education’s Strategic Transformation of Education Plan (STEP).  The Taos School Board president summed up the significance of the moment.
